Pelvic floor dyssynergia
Pelvic floor dyssynergia is when the muscles on one’s pelvis floor become uncoordinated. The pelvic floor muscles include the connective tissue that supports the bladder, rectum, and pelvic organs. When these muscles contract, they prevent stool from leaking.
When one has pelvic floor dyssynergia, the pelvic floor muscles do not relax, as they should for smooth bowel movement and stool elimination. This causes severe constipation, which is extremely painful and may affect the quality of one’s life.
